DermTV Prevent Exercise Itching DermTV Epi 297

Music Hello, I'm Dr. Neal Schultz pause and welcome to DermTV. During. or even right after exercise, itching on your face, scalp or neck happens to a lot of people and when it does, its really annoying. It's cause isn't so much related to the particular exercise you do but it's more related to how intensely you do it. Simply, the more intense the workout, the more you itch. When you exercise, your muscles use energy for the muscle contractions that move your body. Very simply, the MORE you do, and the faster and harder you do them, the more energy you use. That's what.

Burns calories which then impacts on weight loss. Hooray!!! But unfortunately, muscles are somewhat inefficient in their use of those calories. Well, that inefficiency creates heat in those hard working muscles and that heat then spreads from the muscles and starts to raise your body temperature. In your body's eternal effort to maintain homeostasis, meaning keeping things normal. and maintain a constant 98.6 internal temperature,. it brings blood from the inside of your body which is starting to rise above 99 degrees, it brings that 99deg blood to your relatively cooler skin which is normally, somewhere between 80, 90.

Degrees. By sending more, warmer core blood to your relatively cooler skin, the extra core heat is dissipated easier to the outside air and that helps maintain normal, internal temperature by preventing it from rising. So far so good this all makes sense and as someone who loves to exercise I'm in. But when we bring that heated blood to our skin, that heat causes a small amount of inflammation, or just plain irritation, in the skin. To deal with the annoyance of too much heat, your body tells special skin cells to.

Release their histamine as part of the body's way of fighting and correcting this unnatural. increasing skin temperature. Finally, It's the release of this histamine in your skin that causes the itching. OK that was easy just kidding. but why's the itching worse on your face, scalp and neck., compared to the rest of your body. Actually the itching can occur anywhere and does but it happens much more on you head and neck for 3 reasons first the shape of your head and neck have a very high surface area compared to their volume, which makes heat loss much more.

Efficient. Remember, mom always said to wear a hat in cold weather. She knew this stuff! Second there's a very rich network of blood vessels in your face, scalp and neck. which bring a lot of blood there, and that maximizes heat loss.and lastly your scalp sweats a lot because of your hair and the sweat plays a minor role in the itching. So whats the best fix to help prevent exercise induced itching I bet you want me to say don't exercise!. Sorry that's not an option! Instead try taking a nonsedating.

Natural Healing Tips Natural Cold Remedies

Everybody gets cold. Treating them isn't always yummy, but I can show you a way that will work really well. I'm Lauren Roy from Sugar Hollow Farm in Phillipston, Mass. If you feel a cold coming on, that's the best time to start taking care of it. When you get that little feeling and you think you're getting a cold, you're getting a cold. The first thing you want to do is boost your body's immune system. You can do that with garlic. Garlic is the strongest antibacterial, antifungal that has ever been created. You're going to.

Take a couple of cloves of garlic and put them in your teacup and steep them for ten minutes. To that, you're going to add the juice of one lemon, as well as two tablespoons of honey, which also have antibacterial and antifungal properties. It also helps mask the taste of the garlic. But nobody said everything's going to taste good. If you're getting that chill you can add some ginger to it because ginger has natural heating abilities. Put that all in your cup and let it steep for a good ten minutes and drink it down. You're.

Going to have to repeat this a couple of times during the day, and you're going to have to drink the whole thing, you can add as much honey as you want to mask the taste of the garlic, but the garlic is very important. You have your antibacterial properties, you have your antifungal properties, your vitamin C, you can add something like chamomile tea and catnip tea if you're having trouble sleeping. You do this at the very beginning of a cold and it will shorten the duration of the cold. I'm Lauren Roy at Sugar Hollow Form in Phillipston,.

I Am An Ice Fisherman INDIE ALASKA

C'mon you big monster ones. It's lunch time, haha. There's always somebody going out fishing. Whether it's stormy, or cold, or a nice day. Gotta be patient with 'em. Here in Kotzebue, in winter time we fish for sheefish. A lot of these sheefish we give to the elders, feed our families. There's some days where it's 30, 60 below and there's people that go out and go look for these sheefish. Gotta be a pretty tough guy to come out here, tough woman, to sit out here for hours and hours.

Trying to catch 'em. And if you don't have an auger you gotta dig your hole with an ice pick. That'll take a while, tiring. Patience you know. I've seen a lot of guys just being too relaxed and lose their whole jigger. Big sheefish. Springtime, half of the town's out here. Oh, look. A big one. I better go help her. Wife I don't know if it'll fit. Elmer I hope it does. Elmer Stuck at the bottom of the hole. Wife Man, it's humongous. Let go. C'mon you fish. Ah there it goes.

My dad and mom used to take me out ice fishing when we were kids. Grew up on it. Never stopped since. Wow, that's a big one. I try to keep my kids in the tradition of ice fishing, which they love thank god. Try to take 'em out right after they get off school, bring 'em out here for a few hours, let 'em have their fun. Being an Alaskan, I love it. You can always go wherever you want, when you want. You can always drive on your snow machine.

Dying Light Developer Tools Tutorial Part 5 Scaling Objects

Part V Scaling Objects Welcome to Part Five of the Dying Light Developer Tools guide. In this tutorial we'll show you two modes for scaling objects. The first mode lets you scale in relation to axes. It's available from the toolbar or under the R' key. In this mode objects are scaled along two axes in relation to their pivot without changing its position. Grab one of the axes and move the cursor to scale the object. If you want to scale in relation to two axes, grab the yellow triangle between them.

Finally, grab the center of the gizmo to scale in relation to all three axes at the same time. The other mode can be found on the toolbar next to Scale Objects' or by pressing Q' on your keyboard. This mode lets you scale objects in relation to their outlines. When it's enabled, you'll see a cube outline around the object. Grab one of its sides to scale it. At the same time you will move its pivot so that it stays in the center of the scaled object. It means the object is scaled along one axis in one direction only, as opposed to one axis and two directions in the previous mode.

Bees in Winter Farm Raised Classics With P. Allen Smith

Along with the new year comes the prospect of living up to many of those resolutions to better ourselves. Unfortunately, sometimes those resolutions can fall by the wayside. But, you know, you don't have to look very far in nature to find inspiration and good role models for sticking to something and getting the job done. These little guys, the bees, are some of the most industrious workers on the planet. All spring, summer and even into the fall, they were gathering nectar and pollen for the winter. These hives are.

Full of honey, which will sustain the bees for the next few months until temperatures warm and they can start foraging again. What's interesting is that scientists tell me that to produce 1 pound of honey, the bees will travel, collectively, 50,000 miles and they'll visit 5 million flowers. These numbers are even more astonishing when you consider that there's 80 to 100 pounds of honey in these hives, and that's after I harvested my share last fall. Another fascinating thing about bees is that even though they're coldblooded, they can maintain a constant temperature in the hive. If temperatures as low as 50 below.

iPads may cause skin rashes

If you own an iPad, and have a skin rash. the two may not be independent of each other. The Pediatrics Medical journal recently featured the case study of an 11year old boy who was being treated for allergic contact dermatitis in San Diego. Doctors found that the boy's first generation iPad,. which he used everyday,. contained nickel in its outside coating. They advised him to refrain from using the tablet PC altogether. But before you run to your local Apple store to file a complaint, it should be pointed out that it's not yet certain whether all iPads contain nickel. Apple said in a statement that its products are made with the highest quality materials,. and added that allergies like the one reported are extremely rare.
